In the Canadian Rockies there are 54 summits over 11,000 feet (3353 metres) or 58 summits?(Thanks Corbett). I would be very happy to summit all of these grand peaks. In the Columbia Mountains (Purcells, Selkirks, Monashees and Cariboos Ranges) there are 17 summits over 11,000 feet. To also climb all these mountains would be the icing on the cake of my mountaineering life. As of 2024, I have climbed 41 of 58 Rockies 11,000’ers and 5 of 17 Columbia 11,000’ers. Ascents listed by year.
2003
Mount Athabasca
3491m (11,452ft.)
Climbed the Silverhorn route with Jeff Andowa, great conditons, snow for bottom half of horn, then fun ice for top of horn. Simple walk to summit and descended the North Glacier.
